How do I enroll my child in the Academy?
VRA requires completion of an application to the school. The child must meet eligibility criteria based on scores from developmental assessment. If the child is younger than 3 years old, they must be in the Early Steps program under a Family Support Plan. If they are older than 3 years old, they must have had or be scheduled to have a developmental assessment completed. This can be done through the Child Find program or we can do it onsite. If a child already has an active IEP they can be considered for enrollment. For more information, please contact Admissions at 863-679-3338 or at email@example.com.
How can my child get therapy?
We require physician prescriptions to order complete Physical, Occupational, Speech-Language, and Behavioral evaluations and treatment. If the child attends Victory Ridge Academy they will receive their therapy during the school day. For more information, please contact Admissions at 863-679-3338 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How much does it cost?
There is no charge to attend Victory Ridge Academy as we are a public charter school. For those receiving additional therapy at the school who have insurance, we do bill the insurance company for authorized therapy services.
Enrollment Policy, Procedures, and Timeline
Victory Ridge Academy is committed to providing a collaborative educational-therapeutic education to eligible children in the Lake Wales and surrounding communities. VRA will not discriminate against applicants on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, or disability.
All eligible students will have an equal opportunity of attending the school through the school’s application and wait-list procedure. Families will receive information about the school’s mission and vision, communicate with school officials, and receive the school application packet. Victory Ridge Academy uses a rolling-application process, and students are eligible to apply at any time. Families will be contacted regarding the outcome of their applications in a timely manner.
The following eligible students will have preference in admission, assuming that at no point these preferences are more than a small percentage of the school, as per federal guidelines:
- Siblings of current VRA students
- Children of VRA staff
Following the enrollment preferences listed above, all eligible students will have an equal opportunity to attend VRA. In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of available openings, VRA will utilize a waiting list, and students will be accepted in order of receipt of the completed application packet.
