Our Childrens Academy

At SyberWorks, we are often asked: "What is the difference between Courses, Learning Events, expertise and professional roles?" It 'a good question!

A Course is basically scoreable verifiable and educational content that can be delivered to students both online (eg via a Learning Management System) or offline (often in a physics class). Courses usually have a status that passes (at least), and often a specific quality finish. Online courses can be tested and graded automatically, while the states of transition for students' courses and grades for offline must be entered manually in the LMS. However, both types of courses can be viewed on LMS-generated transcripts of students.

Event learning is a definite mechanism for the delivery of this theme-related content. One or more courses (all types) may allow a student to complete an event associated learning. Once completed, one or more learning events can give students a mastery of all skills associated (or "skill"). Skills and once I mastered each associate professional roles have earned. Roles work are the final indication that students who earn them capable of performing the functions defined within the organization.

In order to example, say you want to gain the professional role of "PC Field Technician." to do in my organization, I need to master three skills associated with:

– Repair Notebook PC

– Repair PC Desktop

– Repair-work safety

The power laptop alone may require three complete Learning Events (repair portable screens, keyboards and internal components) and then show my laptop-repair proficiency in a live demonstration of my head:

– The laptop screen Learning Event is defined to require that I pass a "Laptop 101" course online. Once I pass, the laptop screen Learning Event is completed.

– The keyboard Laptop Learning event requires the same way that I pass a "Laptop 102" On-line. And once that step, this event learning is also completed.

– The interior laptop learning event requires then that gives me a line (class) Course, and presents a certificate for passing the administrator of my LMS. They then update my training record to show that I have successfully completed this event learning.

– And the final Learning Event (demo laptop-repair), requires that I show my supervisor that I can really repair a laptop PC. A Once the supervisor that I can see, you e-mail administrator LMS, which adds this data to my training record.

And once I pass the same way the other two desktop repair and repair of security

Courses, Learning Events associated with their track, and master their skills members, I finally earn the right to run the "PC Field Technician" Job role that demands them all.

The neat thing about this course / event learning / skills / Job role structure is that administrators can assign and coordinate the dates all must be completed, and, therefore, You Can configure, monitor and manage both the student learning plans and training programs. These programs may also factor of "repeat intervals" that may be required for re Competency annual certifications. E-mail can automatically tell students (and their authorities Surveillance), how and when the next round of training must be completed, to re-certify skills of students and retrain their members for professional roles.
